Washington DC-based soul rock trio, Mission South, is a band with roots planted firmly in both past and present. Members Dan Miller (guitar/vocals), John Beck (bass/vocals) and Max Harwood (drums) met in the fourth grade and grew up within walking distance of each other's homes. The boys remained best friends throughout grade school, making music together all the while, but it was not until 2012 that the three officially joined forces under the name Mission South.
The band's story is not the only aspect of Mission South that bridges the gap between old and new. On the their debut EP, "Migration Vol. 1," Mission South effortlessly fuses classic blues and folk styles with more modern colors and tones, for a sound that is raw, soulful, and adventurous. The three-part "Migration" series ("Vol. 2" scheduled for release in April 2013) will capture Mission South's journey as they transform a childhood dream into a professional endeavor, all the while, never forgetting their roots.

With each of its members having just hit the ripe age of 21, this band is budding with talent that many are touting as the next big act to emerge from the local scene."
